You never stop learning . . . This weekend, I attended the 25th Annual ACFLS (Association of Certified Family Law Specialists) Conference in Rancho Mirage. The weather, scenery and company were exceptional. I met a great group of people (judges, fellow lawyers, accountants, and QDRO specialists) who are committed to collaborating and growing in our professions, in order to better serve the public. The seminars were filled with valuable information about issues such as: separate vs. community interests in real property, special rules regarding retirement and pension plans, and how to classify separate vs. community debt. The law is dynamic, so it’s essential for me to remain current on latest trends in the law and judicial interpretation of the same.

I am grateful to the panel of experts, including practitioners and esteemed judges, for their time and preparation in providing us with quality continuing education. The ACFLS board, staff members, and volunteers should also be acknowledged for their dedication and hard work.
